Delightful home from home in village of Rosscarbery
Sinéad and Dan are very hospitable hosts in this delightful home from home, in the beautiful village of Rosscarberry in West Cork. Food is VG with home baking a delight, especially Sinéads Soda Bread. All is clean and well cared for, but most important of all is the Irish Hospitality. Because only in Ireland does one enjoy such genuine warmth, fun and sociability. As such, de Barra Lodge is warmly commended by the Ponsonby Family after a 7 night stay in August 2019. Best Wishes to all in Rosscarbery, West Cork, RoIMike and Martina. - Bromsgrove, UK.

The rooms are lovely the breakfasts lovely and my dietary needs catered for.My poached eggs were lovely from the hens on site. This family run lodge is very welcoming and you are made to feel very special like family including the family dog whose really a dote. Breakfast was a lovely experience as was our rooms for comfort and sleeping in. My wife and the owner had great craic together. It was last minute booking but best possible outcome ! From first moment of arrival, Sinéad was very welcoming and friendly host. House is beautiful and suited on top of the hill and peace and silence surrounding it is pure bliss. Rooms are very spacious and very comfortable with all necessities and big bathrooms. Breakfast was freshly made with such a great choice of food as cereals, jams, breads, tea ,coffee. deBarra Lodge is a must
My husband and I have stayed here on a number of occasions it’s a lovely place, extremely comfortable, clean, lovely linen and towels. The breakfast is always first class, cooked to order and to your liking, beautiful home made brown bread and scones made by the lady of the house Sinéad. Who I can surly tell you you will have to go a long way to meet a nicer person. Between herself and her husband Dan nothing is too much for them, we always have a wonderful time with them and we give them the highest of recommendations. If you are planning a trip to West Cork and Rosscarbery deBarra Lodge is a must. Thank you Sinéad and Dan xxxFrancis. - Limerick,Ireland.
Wonderful hosts and property
I don’t normally “do” b/b’s but had no choice this time as the only hotel in town was full. After the welcome and service we received at deBarra Lodge, I was very pleased the hotel was full! Sinead and Dan and their two gorgeous children were a joy to meet. Such friendly, welcoming and genuine people. Dan acted as our personal chauffeur for the weekend! Thank you Dan. Sinead fed us the most wonderful breakfasts with their own free range eggs included. I loved watching the chucks peck around their generous quarters! Thank you Sinead.drumree. - Ireland.

One of Ireland's best
Stayed for the weekend 23-25 June 17. Arrived late Friday night with a great welcome from Sinead with tea and cake waiting for us. Rooms were big, clean with comfortable beds (one of the best I have slept in), lovely full Irish cooked breakfast with home made scones and bread.De Barra Lodge is set in beautiful quiet surroundings. A big thank you to Dan who helped us with sorting out the sat nav in the hire car. We would highly recommend De Barra Lodge.Martin Bre - London, United Kingdom.
We went to Rosscarbery to chase long lost ancestors. I think we found them but I know that we found a wonderful jewel in West Cork. The Barry’s greeted us with a “welcome home” smile that exuded warmth and friendliness. Sinead made us feel as if we were long lost relatives. Our room and the adjoining living room were spacious and comfortable. This was our first trip to Ireland but, it definitely won’t be our last. We are already planning our next visit. deBarra lodge will be our first go to place. We are looking forward to seeing the Barrys again and enjoying their hospitality, cordiality and the hearty Irish breakfast that Sinead serves. Wonderful lodge run by a wonderful family. Thanks for allowing us to be “part of the family” if only for a short period of time.Ed Dillon - California,USA.
